About NMBA

Nepal Microfinance Bankers' Association (NMBA), registered at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu in 2006, is a non-profit, member-based organization. It is a network of the Class "D" microfinance financial institutions (MFIs) licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank and also the apex body of the MFIs. The purpose of NMBA is to promote the microfinance sector and establish conducive environment for client and staff protection. NMBA works closely with regulators and key stakeholders to achieve the broader goal of financial inclusion of the poor and deprived class through microfinance services. Vision

To establish as microfinance resource centre serving as the umbrella organization of the microfinance financial institutions.

Mission

To act towards knowledge exchange and working alliance among microfinance financial institutions so as to ensure effective and sustainable microfinance services.

NMBA OBJECTIVES

Support related agencies

To support related agencies for policy formulation for conducive microfinance operations.

Take Necessary Action

To take necessary action to build capacity of MFI's of Nepal coordinating with national and international organizations working in the field.

Maintain discipline

To help to maintain discipline of microcredit customer and develop professionalism among staffs of MFIs.

Set standards

To support to set standards for performance indicators and norms of microfinance sector.

Develop healthy competition

To develop healthy competition, cooperation among MFIs. To share information and knowledge among MFIs.

Promote NMBA Relationship

To promote personal and friendly relationship among members of the Association, holding conferences and meetings for the discussion of technical issues.
